Night Trip
Our starlit night trips are designed to create an atmosphere of peace and quiet as you gently move through the beautiful Kenmare Bay. You don’t need any previous experience to join us on this magical tour that will bring you closer to the natural world and may give you the chance to experience mystical sparks of bioluminescence lighting up the water around you.

- Kayaks are extremely stable and easy to control with a rudder system.
- Please note that we require anyone under the age of 14 to sit in the front of a kayak with an adult behind them.
- Please advise your guide of any relevant medical conditions before the activity commences.
- We recommend leaving mobile phones (and anything else that you wouldn’t want to lose) in the car and your guide will look after your car keys for you.

- All kayaking equipment – paddles, kayaks, buoyancy aids etc.
- Kayak specific waterproof jackets and spray decks.
- Instruction on how to use the equipment.
- Professional guiding throughout the experience.
- Our guides pull you into and out of the water, so even your feet stay dry.

- We advise you to wear clothes that you would be comfortable walking in and that are suitable for the temperature.
- Soft soled shoes (like trainers/sneakers).
- If it is raining, we recommend that you bring a waterproof jacket with a hood to wear underneath the equipment for extra protection.

- For groups of 4 people or less we offer a full refund up to 48 hours in advance of the experience start time.
- For groups of 5 people or more we offer a full refund up to 72 hours in advance of the experience start time.
- For private groups we offer a full refund up to one week in advance of the experience start time.
- In the unfortunate event that the wind forces us to cancel your experience then you will be offered a full refund if you don’t want to reschedule to a later date.

Here’s All You Need To Know

- Gently glide through the peaceful waters of Kenmare Bay.
- A kayak offers us the opportunity to get close to nature, whilst also being eco-friendly.
- While you are on a guided tour you are in control of your own craft, this gives you the freedom to explore with a guide never far away.
- As you sit comfortably in your kayak, watching the world go by or gazing into the stars, you will find there are few things more relaxing.
- Kayaking is an activity for all ages, whatever your level of fitness. As it’s not a weight bearing exercise very little stress is placed on bad backs or knees.

- We expect to see some form of bioluminescence on most of our Night Trips.
- We can’t guarantee it (it is a natural phenomenon) however our experienced guides know the best places to look.
- With or without the bioluminescence, paddling at night is an incredible experience that will provide a lasting memory for years to come.

- No previous experience is needed to join our tours.
- Our kayaks are extremely stable and easy to use.
- Your guide will tell you all you that need to know in order to control your own boat. It’s easy, we promise!

- The short answer is… No.
- We provide all necessary waterproof gear and the kayaks are extremely stable.
- We don’t wear wetsuits, instead we believe in keeping you (and your clothes) dry.
- Of course there is always a very slight risk of getting wet in a kayak; but if you listen to your guides instructions the risk is minimal.
- Our double kayaks have been specially selected for their stability, comfort and ease of control.

- Wear something comfortable, we recommend clothes that you would be happy to hike in.
- If it is cold wear a jumper and feel free to bring a hat.
- If it is raining then we recommend bringing a hooded waterproof jacket to wear underneath the gear we give you.
- Soft soled shoes like trainers are ideal.

- You should allow approximately 2.5 hours from your time of arrival to departure.

- The only type of weather that will affect your trip is strong winds.
- Rain, no problem! We love to kayak in the rain here in Ireland.
- We provide you with fully waterproof kit to go over your clothes and keep you dry and warm. We recommend bringing your own waterproof jacket with a hood for an extra layer of protection if it is raining.
- In the unfortunate event that strong winds force us to cancel a trip we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you priority booking on another tour where possible.

- Tours will start at Templenoe pier, we occasionally use an alternative car park on busy days but we will advise you if this is the case on the day.

- We recommend leaving all of your electronics safely in the car. Enjoy some time away from your phone out on the water and let us take the photos for you! We try our best to send on a collection of photos to you after the trip.

Incredible experience and amazing staff!
This was our second time on this trip and we couldn’t recommend it more. The experience itself is incredible, the stories, the sunset and the bioluminescence are amazing! The staff are as amazing as the sights, Jamie, Rowan, Rommel and Eamon are so helpful and informative – really great at explaining everything to more nervous members of the group!
We would recommend to anyone of any age and we will definitely be going back!

Unbelievable night kayak
Unbelievable night Kayak with Jamie and our 2 x boys – we learnt so much about the nature of the surrounding area (in a v fun way) and also the history both real and Mystical!!! Our son has not stopped telling everyone he meets about the bioluminescence and some of the other amazing things he learnt. Jamie is the best host you could ask for and his endless supply of “dad jokes” was sight to behold. Thanks again Jamie!!!

Utterly fantastic
Utterly fantastic. Took us on a tour of Kenmare Bay in a tandem sit in kayak. The instructor (Eamonn) was full of stories and knowledge about the local history and biome and we felt safe at all times . He judged the trip on our level of paddle experience and adjusted accordingly, just super from beginning to end!
